Rizon announces new appointments in Doha

Online charter broker Virgin Charter stopped “active operations” on Friday according to a company statement. “With the severe decline in corporate travel, Virgin Charter was unable to generate sufficient sales to underpin its business plan and has taken the difficult decision to close its doors.

NBAA 09: Avantair swells fleet and sets out expansion plans

Avantair took delivery at NBAA of its 55th Avanti twin turboprop and announced plans to expand its regional network to cater for the soaring demand for its fractional and charter card programmes.
Avantair has established fixed-base operations and maintenance facilities at Clearwater in Florida, Caldwell, New Jersey and Camarillo, California and is establishing similar ventures in Texas, the upper Mid-West and the Bahamas.

HondaJet to feature G3000

Honda Aircraft has become the second manufacturer after Piper Aircraft to select the new Garmin G3000. The HondaJet will be outfitted with the new integrated touchscreen-controlled flightdeck when it enters service at the end of 2011. Production delays at Embraer’s factory and an associated bottleneck in the pilot training process for its new Phenom 100 light jet have delayed the service launch of air-taxi firm JetBird.
