In a boost for Bahrain's efforts to rival Abu Dhabi and Dubai as a business aviation hub for the Middle East, the biggest Airbus corporate jet operator, Comlux, is to set up a business in the kingdom in partnership with MAZ Aviation of Saudi Arabia.

Pilatus Logs Record Deliveries in 2009

Pilatus today reported that 2009 was a record-breaking year for PC-12 deliveries, bucking the downward trend seen at most business aircraft manufacturers. The Swiss company delivered 100 PC-12 NG turboprop singles last year, surpassing delivery totals for any production year since the first PC-12 was shipped in 1994.

IATA blasts governments and oil companies for neglect of biofuels

The International Air Transport Association has criticised the oil industry and national governments for failing to invest in the development of aviation biofuel.
Explaining why he is "disappointed" with the lack of government action, IATA director general Giovanni Bisignani cites the "billions of dollars of bailout" received by the ailing car industry. He complains: "We have not seen one penny from governments investing in biofuels."

UK government gives fresh hope to Farnborough expansion

TAG Farnborough's plans to almost double the number of aircraft movements at the UK's only dedicated business aviation airport - have been given fresh hope following a government decision to launch a public enquiry later this year into the expansion proposals.
