ASA adds completions to its portfolio in tie-up with Renaissance International Holdings

March 8th, 2010

Hong Kong’s ASA Group, which offers VVIP security, ground handling and aircraft management services in the Asia Pacific and Middle East has allied with Canada’s Renaissance International Holdings (RIH) to establish a base at one of Britain’s fastest-growing airports – Robin Hood Airport, Doncaster.

ASA’s chief executive Simon Wagstaff says: “Now that we have moved into the aircraft management area, we anticipate that we will be asked about aircraft completion management, observation inspections and refurbishments by our clients.” He continues: “RIH is a highly specialised completions service provider and like us has grown even through difficult times. Both companies have a similar ethos and we believe we will create a dynamic partnership that will help serve the private aviation community.”

RIH has already established a maintenance facility at Robin Hood Airport for avionic infrastructure work and is set to open a completions centre there in summer 2010. President Bryan Landry says: “The alliance with ASA will benefit both companies’ customers. When purchasing an aircraft the initial definition, the development and interior design specifications are critical elements in the success of the final product. The reason people were willing to fly their aircraft to North America to have them painted, complete maintenance tasks and rework interior cabin issues was there were frequently no slots available in Asia and Europe that could do all three components.”

He adds: “We often are called upon to oversee avionic, interior installations at service and completion centres. This is what Renaissance is all about – making sure that our clients get what they paid for. Our alignment with ASA also allows us to penetrate new markets with leading technologies such as Satcom systems, Electronic Flight Bags and Enhanced Vision Systems, which ensure our customers’ safety remains a priority.”

The alliance is a further foray into Europe for ASA, which recently teamed up with London’s The Luxury Network (TLN) an affinity-marketing group with networks in Beverly Hills, London, Milan and Moscow and the Middle East. ASA owns and manages the franchise in Asia. Wagstaff says: “We see this collaboration with RIH as the next logical step in developing ASA in the direction we would like to go.”
