Embraer delivers first Phenom 300 executive jet

Embraer has begun delivering its recently certified Phenom 300 executive jet, just one year after the first Phenom 100 customers received their aircraft. The first Phenom 300 was delivered at the Company’s headquarters, on December 29, 2009, to Executive Flight Services, a wholly owned aircraft management subsidiary of Executive AirShare, which received the aircraft on behalf of an undisclosed customer.

“As the first FAA Part 135 operator to take delivery of the Phenom 300, Executive Flight Services will be managing an aircraft that has met all design specifications and improved on its targets, in terms of runway take-off length, range, speed, and landing distance, making it the ideal tool for corporate use in this category,” said Ernest Edwards, Embraer Vice President, Marketing and Sales, USA, Mexico and the Caribbean – Executive Jets.

Production delays at Embraer’s factory and an associated bottleneck in the pilot training process for its new Phenom 100 light jet have delayed the service launch of air-taxi firm JetBird. The company expected to begin revenue flights last month from its initial operating base at Cologne, Germany, but CEO Stefan Vilner said this will now happen “before the end of this year.
