ExecuJet Middle East is expanding its maintenance capability at its Dubai International Airport base with the addition of a second 4,830 m² hangar. The facility is suitable to accommodate up to eight to ten aircraft or more of various sizes and also features 417 m² of additional office space. The new facility, which ExecuJet has committed to under an initial three year lease, complements its existing 5,600 m² maintenance, FBO and office facility at the airport, where it also offers aircraft management and charter services.

ExecuJet also announces the addition of a mid size cabin Hawker 800XP to its managed fleet. The UAE registered aircraft is the third to join over recent months with two new Challenger 605s which were added to the ExecuJet managed fleet in June. The aircraft will be based in Dubai and will also be available for charter worldwide including Afghanistan and Iraq, subject to regular internal security review by the ExecuJet Safety Committee.

“The addition of this second hangar, coming so soon after our newly won maintenance accreditation for the Embraer Legacy family, means we are in a strong position to take on more maintenance contracts and accommodate more base aircraft,” said ExecuJet Middle East Managing Director Mike Berry. “The Middle East business aviation market is showing positive signs of recovery and business is now steady. On the FBO side we are handling increased charter activity with flights within the Middle East and to regions such as Africa and Europe being especially popular. The new Hawker 800XP is a very welcome addition to the fleet.”

ExecuJet Middle East is approved to support the entire range of Bombardier business aircraft as well as the Gulfstream G150 and G200 business aircraft models, plus most recently the Embraer Legacy series and manages a Bombardier Spare Parts Depot. It is also an authorised service centre for Honeywell engines and APUs along with being accredited with the Rockwell Collins Business Regional System Avionics dealership.

The ExecuJet Aviation Group is a leading global business aviation organisation offering a diverse range of services including pre-owned and new aircraft sales, aircraft management for private and commercial registered aircraft, aircraft charter, aircraft maintenance, aircraft completions management and fixed base operations. Headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland, ExecuJet has operations in five regions – Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and South Africa, embracing a workforce of over 800 experienced staff.

The ExecuJet Aviation Group has bolstered its European fleet with the addition of seven new aircraft. Over the past few months the company has added a Challenger 300, Challenger 850, two Global Express’, one Global 5000, one Falcon 2000 and a Gulfstream 100. These aircraft are based in London, Moscow, Kiev, and Nice. With more Global Express, Gulfstream and Falcons also in the pipeline for arrival in the next weeks this takes ExecuJet Europe’s management fleet to over 50 aircraft.

Jean-Louis Cehovic, ExecuJet’s Europe newly appointed Director Aircraft Management Sales, notes that business jet owners are increasingly looking to earn revenue from their aircraft and are offering their jets for more third party charter flying this year. ExecuJet is also seeing more of their clients commit to full management packages, enabling them to benefit from the organisation’s buying power in terms of fuel, insurance, maintenance, crew training and other economies of scale.

“At ExecuJet we have developed a unique aircraft management package that makes the switching of operator a seamless process. As most of the new customers we gain have been with previous operators it is important to keep the aircraft flying while we perform all the work required to get the aircraft under a new AOC and maintain the maintenance supervision continuity,” says Cehovic.

“Tougher EU regulations are definitely driving the number of aircraft being placed under management issues such as the new rules on emissions trading – daunting for individual owners – are influencing them to partner with an expert organisation that is au fait with all the work that needs to be done,” he adds.

As part of its aircraft management package ExecuJet will schedule all maintenance work on a managed aircraft, in-house where possible or contracted out to another organisation. In the case of unscheduled maintenance through a third party (which can be costly, especially if an engine or major component needs to be replaced) ExecuJet will check all work when complete, along with the invoices, to ensure that all is in order and giving peace of mind to the client.

ExecuJet Europe’s ability to offer a client the choice of four AOCs – British, Danish, German and Swiss, is attractive, says Cehovic. “They can choose which AOC to fly on, but we always recommend obtaining independent tax advice before making the final selection.”

ExecuJet Europe also meets the mandatory new OTAR (Overseas Territory Aviation Requirements) applicable to all business jets and turboprops registered in Bermuda which came into force on 1 November last year. It is also IS-BAO certified.

ExecuJet runs three charter offices in Europe and is pleased to report an upward trend in activity since the third quarter of last year, especially with wide cabin, long range jets. This trend has also been identified in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. The Russian market is picking up again, reports ExecuJet’s sales office in Moscow, with charter bookings especially busy over the Christmas period. ExecuJet would like to manage more aircraft in Russia. “There is a lot of potential still to be realised there,” says Cehovic.

Jean-Louis Cehovic joined ExecuJet in November 2009 from Dassault Falcon Service where he held the position of Chief Operations Officer.

Berlin Airports will hand the operation of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) at Berlin-Schönefeld Airport over to ExecuJet Europe this Friday (15th Jan). ExecuJet was successful in winning the Europe-wide tender and will be responsible for the handling of all business aviation movements in future.

ExecuJet will provide exclusive VIP passenger handling for all arriving and departing business aircraft, building on its success in Berlin Schönefeld over the past years. It opened a newly refurbished and enlarged FBO at the airport in autumn 2008. Its two-floor 400m2 facility includes a crew lounge and operations briefing room, VIP passenger lounges and conference facilities. In addition, ExecuJet offers all aviation services for private or charter aircraft, including fuelling, handling and aircraft parking.

Prof. Dr. Rainer Schwarz, spokesperson of Berlin Airports’ management commented: “ExecuJet is a very experienced partner for Berlin Airports in the field of business aviation and thus an excellent choice to handle GAT. Business aviation in the capital of Germany will be enhanced as a result.”

Tobias Laps, General Manager ExecuJet Germany said: ”This is terrific testimony to our team’s hard work and dedication to business aviation and FBO operations at Schönefeld. We are delighted with this recognition and look forward to taking on this responsibility very much.”

Today’s Schönefeld Airport will become Berlin Brandenburg International BBI and with the GAT in the reliable hands of private aviation specialist ExecuJet, Berlin Airports are ensuring a consistently high class of service to VIP clients.

Schwarz continued: “Business aviation in Schönefeld and later at the BBI is located in a prime position. Business travellers pass towards the GAT before arriving at the main airport terminal where efficient and professional handling awaits. Few airports offer such convenience and ease to their awaiting business jet.”

State of the art ExecuJet Cape Town Facility

Since opening its doors in 2004 at Cape Town International Airport, ExecuJet has been actively developing their operations in the Western Cape. The need for a bigger facility soon became apparent as the company’s operations grew from strength to strength.

The purpose built R250million state-of-the-art FBO facility is strategically located parallel to the main runway and boasts 5,000 sqm of hangar and 7,000 sqm of dedicated ramp parking, as well as exclusive access to the taxiway and runway of Cape Town International. ExecuJet has taken occupation of the entire ground level of the new FBO facility, offering VIP lounges, secretarial services, undercover parking facilities, concierge services, helicopter transfers and a fully equipped boardroom.

“The provision of these services will be an extension of the services already provided by ExecuJet South Africa at Lanseria International Airport and other ExecuJet facilities in Dubai, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Kuala Lumpur, Zurich, Berlin, London City and Monterrey”, says Ettore Poggi, Managing Director, ExecuJet South Africa.
